Supporting Diversity
European Publishing counts on the skills of a variety of people to promote research regardless of their personal background. As a publisher in scientific research, we recognize and respect diversity, and support equity and inclusion. Thus we encourage submissions and research from scientists of any sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation and regardless of racial and ethnic background.
It is our broader goal to eliminate any sample of discrimination in our scientific environment. Thus, actions such as microaggressions, prejudice and harassment and systemic discrimination that harm people do not fit in our society. Therefore we encage to try our best to build an equitable, diverse and inclusive environment in scientific publishing, a culture where everyone can contribute to and benefit from scientific knowledge.
We strongly believe that gender diversity leads to more constructive science and thus we try our best to eliminate gender inequality and raise awareness about the importance of gender equality and work-life balance among our employees (50% of employees/contractors are female). We maintain an unbiased view towards all genders and identifies in science, and we hope to contribute in any possible way to the progress towards gender equality in science, medicine and global health. In light of the above, we are working towards gender parity within editorial boards in our journals.
We are proud to have adopted the C4DISC Joint Statement of Principles - Coalition for Diversity and Inclusion in Scholarly Communications.
We strive to adhere to the 6 EU values of inclusion, tolerance, justice, solidarity and non-discrimination and abide by the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union.
